Palestinian President Thanks Lebanon for Stance at UN

Beirut, Oct 10 (Prensa Latina) The president of the Palestinian National Authority, Mahmoud Abbas, thanked Lebanese President Michel Aoun for his country''s stance in defense of the Palestinian cause at the United Nations.

In a letter published on Wednesday, Abbas referred to the historic, solid and stable relations between the Lebanese and Palestinian peoples.

Delivered by Palestinian Ambassador to Lebanon Ashraf Dabbour, the letter states how important Arab cooperation is to face all challenges against the cause of the Palestinian people.

During his speech on September 26 before the UN General Assembly, President Aoun described as unfair the international political approach on the Middle East with the implementation of double standards.

He added that forgetting the Palestinian cause reflected that situation.

In his speech, President Aoun emphasized that the incorrect treatment of the problem originated wars and created a resistance that will only end when oppression ends and justice emerges.
